Hi, I'm Nia! Human, creative, and relational therapist from Long Beach, CA, currently based and practicing as a licesned marriage and family therapist in Chicago, IL.

I am a lifelong lover of visual and literary art, a libra, a sister, a daughter, and self-proclaimed day dreamer.
Soft Spot Therapy Collective is a place that has danced trough my imagination for quite some time. A reflection of my deep desire for softness for my whole self due to the fragmentation of my Blackness, my womanhood, and my queerness. A manifestation of hope that with more soft places to land we can all live more full and whole experiences.
My lens centers the intersections of mental health, identity, and systems of power, and is informed by over a decade of intentional study of psychology, neuroscience, and systems of oppression.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that safety, choice, empowerment, and collaboration are nesessary for an enriching therapy experience. I draw from a vast array of models such as narrative therapy, internal family systems, and emotion focused therapy. My creative and tailored approach works best with folks who are ready to embark on a journey of deep healing. To feel their emotions. to mend familial legacies and experieces of trauma, and expand!

About the symbol
About the symbol

The mirrored “S,” forming a heart-like shape, is inspired by the Sankofa heart—an Adinkra symbol rooted in the Akan philosophy of “going back and getting it.” This mark reflects a core belief that healing, growth, and transformation are not separate from our past, but shaped by our willingness to return to it with intention.
The symmetry of the “S” emphasizes reflection and continuity, suggesting that what we retrieve from our history is not simply remembered, but integrated. The heart form grounds this process in care—honoring the emotional, cultural, and ancestral wisdom that lives within us.
